The compressed-instruction pitch is spreading. And the tools behind it deserve scrutiny—not because the idea is outlandish, but because versions of it are arriving in public schools where teachers are being asked to trust platforms they didn't choose.
What "Adaptive Learning" Actually Means Here
The tools at the center of this model aren't new. Adaptive learning platforms—software that adjusts question difficulty and pacing based on student responses—have existed for more than a decade. IXL, DreamBox, Khan Academy, and Achieve3000 all use versions of this logic.
